The Trust Factor
A daily lesson that focuses on achieving unparalleled success in life using ancient wisdom in modern times.
We will be discussing critical concepts as they are laid out in the book Sha'ar Habitachon - The Gate of Trust. Written 1000 years ago, the author reminds us of the values and wisdom that have allowed humanity to thrive throughout history.
The concept of trusting in a higher power that exists purely for our benefit, puts us in the drivers seat with absolute confidence to achieve greatness.
Eliminate: Fear, Hatred, Anxiety, Depression, Jealousy, Greed...forever!

The Trust Factor
Episode 104 - Balancing Effort and Faith: The Secret to True Success
Ever wondered why some people seem to thrive with minimal effort while others struggle despite working tirelessly? The answer lies in understanding the delicate balance between divine provision and personal action.
This episode of The Trust Factor dives deep into what it means to be a "master of trust" in practical terms – how to function daily with complete confidence in divine provision while still taking necessary action. We unpack the revolutionary concept that your income is predetermined on the spiritual new year, but your actions determine whether you receive everything allocated to you. This perspective completely transforms how we view competition, career choices, and financial planning.
We explore the fascinating balance between risk-taking and divine protection, explaining how engaging in unnecessarily dangerous activities depletes your accumulated spiritual merits. There's a profound difference between reasonable adventures and reckless endangerment – and understanding this distinction is crucial for living wisely.
Perhaps most importantly, we address the dangerous trap of attributing success entirely to our own wisdom or industry choices. When we experience financial breakthrough, the natural tendency is to say, "What a great decision I made getting into this field!" This attitude fails to recognize the divine role in our provision. Instead, true wisdom comes from expressing gratitude for provision rather than pride in our decisions. By releasing control and acknowledging divine guidance, we often see remarkable results that far exceed our own capabilities.

Good morning, ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to the Trust Factor. This is the podcast that will guarantee your success when you implement its divine teachings. My friends, we are discussing what it means in practice, how you should operate on a daily basis, day-to-day, hour-to-hour, minute-by-minute, second-by-second. How do I function? What are the thought processes that go through my mind? What are the actions that I should take? If I am really what's called a Baal B'tachon, meaning I own, I am a master in my trust with God. I know he exists as clear as I know the back of my hand. I know how he operates this world. I know he confirmed what my hand. I know how he operates this world. I know he confirmed what my income is going to be. On Rosh Hashanah, on the new year, god declares this is going to be your income, and now the only person who can destroy that income or affect it in any way at all is you. Your actions will determine whether or not you achieve all of what has been set aside for you. Nobody else has the ability to impact your earnings, my friends, and now what we're learning is how to conduct yourself in that fashion, how to behave like a master of this concept of trust and we've said so far that when it comes to your health, you have an obligation to protect it, your life, you have an obligation to put boundaries in place, not to unduly harm yourself. Don't unduly place yourself at risk.
Speaker 1:Sure, there are times where you want to do things that are a little bit adventurous, a little bit outside the box. They come with associated risks. You can take those on. We've said you can indulge in those activities, but the reality is know that you are using up your merits when you put yourself in a dangerous situation. If it's established that this situation or this activity, statistically speaking, is not necessarily dangerous, maybe it's a little bit more elevated in terms of its risks than you know walking across the street, but generally speaking and statistically speaking, it's not a harm. Like getting on an airplane in the early days of aviation yeah, that was one of these life risks that we were talking about. Or getting on a train, on a high-speed train. You know, in the early days of these inventions they were considered dangerous, but today they've already established themselves, statistically speaking, as very, very safe methods of transportation. In fact, there was a statistic that I heard many, many years ago when I was doing my pilot license. I was doing a pilot's license back in 2000. So 25 years ago, there was a statistic that said that the most dangerous, this category of danger that you need additional merits to be able to save yourself from so you could travel in these modes of transportation knowing that it's not costing you what you've worked so hard to build, namely the deeds the good deeds that you've accomplished and you've set aside for yourself, the good deeds that you've accomplished and you've set aside for yourself.
Speaker 1:Now, if you decide that you're going to get involved in motocross and you're going to ride dirt bikes and you're going to do these crazy jumps that take you 30, 40 feet in the air and these crazy obstacle courses, and that's going to be your weekend adventure, my friend, I have news for you you are using up your merits. You are using up your merits. The. The thing that is keeping you alive and well and healthy are the merits that you have amassed in this life. Once you run out of them, it's a different story, my friends. Now you are at the complete and utter mercy of the risks associated with that sport or that circumstance.
Speaker 1:Conduct yourself carefully, then we said, when it comes to work, to earning a living, to putting a roof over your head, to putting food in the fridge, to putting money in the bank, to doing these things. You cannot sit back and say God's got this. He is the master of the universe. He's the one who creates and manages everything, and so he's going to provide me with my daily bread. Yes, he is, but only when you get up and do the action. You have an obligation to make an effort. That effort needs to be reasonable. Not enough effort, you won't get it. Too much effort, you risk not getting it. You have to make sure that you put forward an effort. If a person's sustenance is supplied to him by way of one of the venues in which he applies himself, it is proper that he should not come to trust in that avenue, rejoice in it, intensify his hold on it and put his heart into it more deeply than before. In other words, I've got this job.
Speaker 1:Now I decided to get into an industry I'm in the rental home business, I'm buying properties and renting them out, or any other business you want to get into and it really works for you. You're making more money than you've ever made before, and now, as a result of that, you lock in and you think, wow, did I ever make a great decision getting into this industry? And so you attribute all of your wealth and all of your success to your choice in industry. And that is a real problem. There's a verse in torah that says don't say, don't bring yourself. Be careful, because eventually you may come in your success to say that it was my strength and it was my wisdom and my brilliance and my foresight and all these wonderful attributes that I have that made me this wealth, that gave me this success. That is the danger, what comes with achieving massive levels of success. It doesn't even have to be massive levels of success. If you're somebody who's never been able to have financial success and suddenly you get into an industry that allows you that, one of the immediate knee-jerk reactions is to say, oh, what a great decision I made getting into this industry. Fantastic. Or even if you're in your regular industry and you make a decision that works out really well and and you close a deal that you've been working on for a long time, whatever the situation is, you may come to say it was my strength, it was my wisdom, it was my prowess that made me all of this wealth Very, very dangerous, my friends.
Speaker 1:It flies in the face of everything that we've been talking about over here. Recognize that all you're doing. This is a very humbling idea, by the way, guys, very humbling and something you should always strive to do. Remember, if you're a boss, if you're a business owner, if you're a person in a position of power and you think that you're making all this money because of your position, because of your abilities, look at the person way down that food chain. Look at that person right at the bottom rung and recognize that you're not doing anything different than that individual is doing. That individual wakes up in the morning, comes to work and puts in eight hours, gives a valiant effort, gives 100%. You came in, woke up in the morning, came to work, gave 100%. You and that individual are on par in terms of your living. Yes, you're making more money, but the reason that you're making more money is because that money was attributed to you on the new year.
Speaker 1:God determined that in your life, you need to be earning X in order to be able to have the best odds at achieving your purpose in this world. And the individual on the bottom rung? He's not any less than you are. He has to achieve his purpose in this world. And the individual on the bottom rung he's not any less than you are. He has to achieve his purpose in this world. His purpose is different than yours. No two people have the same purpose personal purpose. That individual has to be living in that tax bracket in order to achieve their greatest outcome.
Speaker 1:Now, that doesn't mean they can't strive for better and greater. Absolutely they can. But that all is determined by their actions, by their decisions, by their behaviors. What they do with the money that's given to them, where their head is at, where is their free time spent, where are they focusing their time and energy on those are variables that will impact how much this person stands to earn this year and next year. And the same goes for you sitting in the top of the food chain. What you do with that money, where it goes, where your time is spent, where you show your creator you want to focus. That will determine next year's paycheck, more or less or the same. My friends, that's how it works.
Speaker 1:Now let's wrap this up with a little bit more from the book. Indeed, he says he should not think that his chosen avenue will help him acquire any more than what the creator had originally determined. Doesn't matter what industry you're in. You cannot think that if only I invest more time in this industry, I will make more money, not true? He should not rejoice in his association with that particular avenue, in his efforts, thinking I made a wise choice to go into this field and therefore I was successful. Nothing to do with God, everything to do with me. Rather, what should he do? He should thank the Creator, who provided for him.
Speaker 1:After he exerted himself, he did not allow his effort and his labor to be in vain. My friends, that is how it works. You put in an effort, you get rewarded and you feel gratitude for the reward that you've received. That's it. If you don't get the reward, then maybe you're doing something wrong. Maybe you're thinking that the money comes from you. Maybe you're thinking that the money comes from you. Maybe you're thinking that it's your effort. Maybe you feel that it all depends on you, that the more effort you make, the more you will receive. And God is showing you very clearly that that's not the case. You know, when you realize that, my friends, when you pull back, when you let go. I've done this many times. That's why I'm telling you every time I do it, it works clear as day when I release control, when I acknowledge that he runs the show and I pull back.
Speaker 1:I want to share with you guys something that is probably a little premature, because I'm going through it right now, as we speak in my office. In my industry, we are being tested. I'll share more with you about it tomorrow, but today we are being tested as a company and we go through this on an annual basis, and this year I've made a huge change. What that change is and how it works out, I will tell you tomorrow, because there's an idea of lift off to open up your mouth to Satan, to the dark side. I'm not interested in doing that, so I'm going to let today play out and I'm going to update you guys on it tomorrow, but I'm pretty sure I know what the outcome is, so much so that I'm mentioning it to you today. I'm not a prophet. I can't see into the future. I don't have a crystal ball, but what I am doing is implementing the very things that I'm telling you to do, and I will update you on them tomorrow. My friends, have an amazing day.
