Fear is everywhere right now, and it’s not an accident. We’re surrounded by warnings, worst-case headlines, and constant pressure to “be careful” about everything from money to health to status, until fear starts running our days. I want to slow that down and talk about the Trust Factor: what changes when we stop letting panic lead and start building a real relationship with Hashem based on emuna and love.

We begin with Pirkei Avot and Rabbi Akiva’s teaching that every human being is beloved because we’re created in God’s image, and that it’s an even greater kindness that we’re told it outright. From there we talk about the people of Israel being called children of the Omnipresent, and the Torah as the cherished utensil, the tool meant to guide a life of purpose, clarity, and truth. I share why ignoring that guidance is like trying to assemble something complex without the manufacturer’s manual, and why “winging it” eventually breaks down.

Then we turn to the fear culture head-on: fear of taxes, bosses, institutions, illness, and even small body sensations that spiral into dread. I share a first responder story about a 19-year-old terrified by heart palpitations, and how quickly anxiety grows when trust is missing. The takeaway is simple and hard: when we know we’re in Heaven’s care, we do what’s responsible, but we stop living like we’re alone.

Subscribe, share this with someone who needs calmer ground, and leave a review so more people can find the conversation.

The world is louder and more chaotic than ever. That's why clarity and truth have never been more important. Welcome to the Trust Factor Podcast. Good morning, everybody. Welcome to another episode of the Trust Factor Podcast. I'm really happy that you could join us today. We are into, well into Percairvat, into the third, I'll closing up the third chapter of PerK Vot. There's so much more to discuss. But before we get into it, you should know that a friend of mine, a good friend of mine that I've known for over 35 years, childhood friend, who's also an avid listener of the show, reached out to me in the last couple of weeks while we've been talking about this concept of living with illness and how do you connect back to your creator and how do you live with it and how do you r foster the relationship with your creator to be able to get past it so that he could take away the illness from you just as easily as it came on. He's been listening to this and he himself went through a very serious diagnosis, like we've been talking about. And he said, Jesse, I've got to come on the show. I've got so much to share. And this isn't coincidental. This is, by the way, with everybody that people who go through these experiences that are life-altering, every single one of them sees the hand of Hashem. They know intimately that he's involved in their life, and it comes in different forms for each individual. And he was telling me over the story. Bottom line is we're going to have him on the show. It's probably going to be this coming Friday or it'll be on Sunday. I'll post it. It'll be an interview. And he's going to tell us what it's like to be a Jew who was spiritual, not necessarily religious, before the diagnosis, and then how life changed and what those experiences were where he had the ability to see Hashem's hand in his life. So look out for that, guys. Again, it'll either be this Friday or on Sunday. Let's get into Pirkeavot, and then we'll switch over to the Garden of Immonad. Right now it says very interesting stuff in here. The Jew haters and the Israel haters are going to love it. We're going to read it just for them. Huaya Omer. He used to say, Rabbi Akiva is who it's referring to. Beloved is man, for he was created in God's image. It is indicative of a greater love that it was made known to him that he was created in God's image. Two things we just learned in that statement. Number one, that God loves man. God loves humankind. Why? How do we know that? Because we were created in his image. So two things. Number one, he loves us. And number two, he showed us that love by telling us, by informing us, that we were created in his image. He didn't have to. He could have not made that comment. We could have been running around thinking, what's our purpose? How are we supposed to connect? To who are we supposed to connect? What are the attributes we're supposed to have? But we don't have to guess because now we know. God said, and just to give you a comparison, it's like you were born to a king or you were born to uh a celebrity, a highly talented celebrity. And that celebrity is well known and super talented, and now you're made aware that your father has all these talents and he's super popular and super wealthy and capable of doing so many things that a lot of people aren't capable of doing. And now because he created you, you came out of him, now you have his DNA. Now you're embodied with the same abilities and talents potentially that he has. That is a gift to be told that that's where we come from, and that is our task is to emulate him with his attributes. It's a gift. Then it says, Beloved are the people of Israel. This is great for the Israel haters and the Jew haters, for they are described as children of the omnipresent. Those aren't our words. If they bother you, you have a problem with the big boss that comes from the Torah that he gave us. That we are children of God, and that is the nation of Israel. It's indicative of what? An even greater love. That they are described as children of Hashem, of the omnipresent. That's what it says, chapter and verse. You are children of God, your God. Beloved are the people of Israel, for a cherished utensil was given to them. What utensil is he talking about? The Torah. Hashem gave us a tool. It is the tool that we need to utilize in this world in order to reach success, in order to be in light unto the other nations, to show people how to conduct yourselves in this life as a child of our Creator. He gave us that tool. He gave it to us with a mission. And he says, that is an indication of love. I could have given it to anybody else, but I didn't. I chose you. In fact, you chose me. And it says that's indicative of a greater love, that it was made known to them that they were given a cherished utensil. And what's that verse that we say every time we put the Torah back into the ark? We say, For I have given you a good teaching, do not forsake my Torah. Recognize the gift that we've been given. It is the only divine document on planet Earth. It was given to us by our Creator in order to achieve heights that would otherwise be impossible. We have that Torah. How many people actually sit and read from it? How many people actually get themselves a rabbi and sit down and spend at least half an hour, an hour a day going through it? Tell me what my creator said. Give me the instructions that came from the creator, he who created the entire world, the entire universe, everything that is. Tell me so that I can follow it, so that I can do those things and I can connect back to them. People roll through life, 70, 80, 90 years on this planet, and they don't stop to crack the Torah and read a few verses from it and understand what's my purpose? Why were we put here? What are we doing? Give me the instruction manual. They walk through life exactly like a guy who's trying to put together a barbecue without a manual, making mistake after mistake. And I'll leave you with this. At work, I was spent last week, it was a challenging week, building a room, a clean room, a monster room, 30 foot by 20 foot by 10 feet tall, all kinds of workings and filters and electrical and all kinds of stuff. And there were a bunch of us, four or five guys working on it, putting this thing together. And the innate response from some of the guys working on this was we don't need a manual. Manual doesn't really make any sense. Let's just do it the way that makes sense to us. And what did we do? And I knew this and I said this right at the beginning. I said, guys, not a good idea. I don't like veering from the manual. The manufacturer took the time to give us this manual to figure out what to do and what not to do. Why would we not start with that manual? And we went and we started doing it because I was outruled, they were the majority. We started doing it without the manual, and we found out really quickly, really quickly, it also helped that I was putting it in their ear and reminding them every time we ran into a hiccup that we should have started with the manual. And what did we do eventually? Thank God we did it sooner than later. We went back to the manual and we got through everything. And every time we had a hard time, every time we got stuck and we didn't know what to do, what did we do? We went back to the manual. And then if we needed to, we even got in touch with the manufacturer. Why? Because who's going to tell you better how to put this thing together in the fastest and best way possible than the person who built the thing? Do you understand? It's the same thing with the Torah. You want to roll through 70, 80, 90 years of your life in this world with no direction? Going off of what secularism is teaching you, what governments are telling you, what Hollywood celebrities are telling you is important. That's what you want to build your life off of? Those are the decisions that you want to make, that's who you want to confer with? Think about that. They don't have a great track record, my friends. Just look at the state of the world. Just look at how many people are lost and confused. Just look at the things that people are doing in the highest levels of government and Hollywood, where all of the debauchery comes out of, and they're going to teach us how to be good people who contribute to society? You've chosen the wrong advisor. There's only one. It's God's Torah. He created it all. There's nobody better to tell you how to benefit from it. That wraps it up for Pierquok. Let's get back into our book. Why be afraid? People are frozen with fear. We're living in a world of fear, in case you haven't noticed. Okay? The problem is the longer you live and exist in this world, the more you become numb to the idea that they've created an environment of constant fear. What are we worried about? Whether you recognize it or not, my friends, you're worried about the tax max. You're worried about Revenue Canada or the IRS. You're worried about government agencies cutting you off and telling you that you can no longer get whatever subsidies or whatever social programs are being given to you. You're worried that your boss is going to be upset with you or that you're going to lose your job. You're afraid of your teacher, that they're not going to give you the grade that you think you deserve, or that you're going to fail the class entirely. You're scared of disease and illness that God forbid one day you're going to wake up and there's going to be something there that wasn't there yesterday, and you're going to get a diagnosis from a doctor that's going to affect your whole life and cut your life short. We're not lacking in the department of what to be afraid of. This is an environment of fear. Why? Now we ask why. It's a simple question. And the answer is just as simple. The reason they rule with fear is because it is a powerful, powerful motivator. It will get you to fall in line. It's the reason why people don't speed on the streets because they don't want to get stopped by a police officer. So they follow the rules of the road. It is a powerful motivator. Again, I've said this before. The fact that it applies throughout life, in every facet of life, that we should live a constant state of fear. For some reason, people don't accept when it's applied to Torah, when it's applied to God. And generally speaking, there's two ways to live with God. One is out of fear, and the other is out of love. Which is better? Obviously, to live in a relationship with love, to have a relationship with your creator that is based on love and not fear. But most people come to that relationship through fear. They start with fear and then they start to realize who they're fearing. They have eyes to see and they're looking around and they're taking in all of creation and the beauty and the wonder. And then they have a relationship with him and they start to see that it's actually give and take that I ask and I receive, and then he's doing for me, and that all these things that I was worried about, all of a sudden he's showing me I have no reason to be worried about. And then I'm learning all these wonderful concepts of how to become the best that I can possibly be through a book that was given by him. And I start to develop this love. So oftentimes that fear eventually turns into love. That's the pinnacle of the relationship that you can have with your creator. But there's nothing wrong with starting out in a relationship of fear. And there's also nothing wrong with having a sense of reverence and awe and indeed fear. That if you do the wrong thing, if I'm going to be scared of a police officer, a lousy police officer who's sitting on a speed trap waiting to give me a ticket for a few bucks so he can make his quota, that's gonna terrify me. But the creator and he who manages all of creation, my life and everything that I've ever received, and everything that I'm going to receive, and all the good and all the seemingly bad, everything that he does. I'm aware of that, and I'm not gonna be afraid of him. I'm not gonna be afraid to do something that I shouldn't do that he told me not to do. Why not? It doesn't make any sense. They fear other people, just like I said, their bosses, the HI, I didn't read forward, their bosses, the IRS, terrorists, other motorists. The list is long. Anytime they get a muscle spasm, they envision some imminent crippling disease. I just came, you know, I'm a Hutsala responder. I'm a first responder, which means I go out to calls any time of day to be able to help people who are having medical or trauma issues. I just came a couple days ago from a call. 19-year-old girl, perfectly healthy, no medical history, well put together, beautiful home, great loving parents. I came to the call expecting the worst, and it was just a 19-year-old girl who had heart palpitations the night before the wedding. And because of that, she thought her life was coming to an end. She thought it was all over, severe panic attack. It was nothing. Did an EKG on her and found nothing. Perfect condition, heart, very healthy, overall in great condition. What are you worried about? She couldn't function, she couldn't move from her chair, terror in her eyes. Why? Because she had heart palpitations for a couple hours last night. Guys, that's the state of somebody who lacks MUNA. It's so easy to fix, and yet most of us are running around life with that fear. All these fears are expressions of a lack of emuna. You know, that call I was on, interestingly enough, I was thinking about it this morning. How much I want to take somebody like that aside and have a real heartfelt conversation with her to say, look, what you're dealing with is so easily fixable. You don't need doctors, you don't need medicine, you don't need anything but your creator and your amuna. But I mean, there has to be lines, right? I I have to know where those lines start and stop. But how much I wanted to have that conversation and how easily, if she wanted to, she could fix that problem. Particularly the lack of amuna, that the creator does everything for our very best. If you don't have that, that's exactly what I was thinking this morning. If she doesn't know that her father has the ability in a second to make her sick or to heal her from anything, if she knew that, she wouldn't worry for a second. It's like Elon Musk's son worried that he's gonna max out his visa. Is that normal? It doesn't make any sense. Why would he worry about that? There's an unlimited credit availability to him. He's worried that he's gonna max out his visa. It doesn't happen. He doesn't, he doesn't understand that. A person with a Muna doesn't fear anything, for he knows that he is in heaven's care and that everything the creator does is for his very best. This saves tons of emotional wear and tear. Since the creator does everything for the best, there's nothing to worry about. The wear and tear on this 19-year-old beautiful girl in the prime of her life. Why does she need to sit and fear a lousy heart palpitation that is perfectly normal throughout all of humanity? Because the world has told her that you need to be careful, just like we started, that this world is a world of fear, that they're telling you if something doesn't feel right, if you're not 100% listen to all these stories of people who are getting sick and people who are dying, and people who are in the hospital, people who are getting diagnosed, celebrities and friends and community members. It's everywhere. You can't get away from it. So obviously she's gonna live in a state of fear, especially because she doesn't have the knowledge of her creator. She doesn't know that she is in good hands, that all she needs to do is turn to a creator and say, Sham, it's scaring me. I don't know why I have this. Please make it go away. What do I need to deal with this for? Let me be busy doing the things that you want me to do so that I don't have to worry about these things. And if she did that and she fostered her relationship with her creator, she never would have had those palpitations in the first place. And even if she did, she wouldn't think twice about them because she would do an ounce of research and she would realize that they're perfectly normal. Get herself checked out once and it's done. Turns out she's been having these for years, and she's no exception. She is just like the vast majority of humanity. That's why we do this podcast, my friends. That's why we learn Pierre Caravogue.
