One word can decide what kind of day you’re about to live. We walk through a real morning moment where a heavy mental script flips from “what I have to do” to “what I get to do” and suddenly there’s a spring in the step, even with a full lineup of problems waiting at the office. That shift isn’t motivational fluff; it’s a practical gratitude mindset you can repeat by pausing, doing honest introspection, and counting what’s already working, from health to simple ability to move through your day.

From there, we go deeper into faith and finance through a Kabbalistic lens: why some transactions happen easily while others refuse to move, even when the product seems perfect. If you’ve ever managed cash flow, watched “junk” inventory sell at a premium, or lost a deal that later came back, you’ll recognize the pattern. We talk about doing your part in business, showing up, making the call, presenting value, and then letting the outcome land when it’s meant to.

We also get concrete about sales ethics and trust. Pushy tactics can create resentment and signal fear, while negotiating in good faith, keeping your word, and treating people like humans builds long-term strength. We reflect on how social media, weaker interpersonal skills, and visible corruption in leadership can erode trust, and why Emunah in business means choosing honesty anyway, because your livelihood isn’t dependent on forcing the person across the table.

Subscribe, share this with someone who needs a mindset reset, and leave a review with the one word you’re choosing to change today.

The One-Word Mindset Shift

Not look at what I have to do. Look at where I need to go. Look at all the challenges. Look at all the things I need to deal with. What I said to myself was look at what I get to do. Look at how lucky I am. Just the fact that I woke up in the morning. Just the fact that I have a spring in my step. Just the fact that I can walk. Just the fact that I could put my shoes on and tie my own shoelaces. I was counting my blessings. I stopped and I acknowledged all the amazing things that I have going for me. And it doesn't need to be that I'm a trillionaire. That could sink you. Instead, I said, look at how wonderful my lot in life is. And it made me fall in love with my life. And it gave me a spring in my step, and it changed everything. The Trust Factor is a ticket to a better life. The Trust Factor shows you how to get through the life. And it's another day on the Trust Factor Podcast. Thank you for joining us. Yesterday we spent some time at the back half of the podcast talking about some Kabbalistic ideas on how this concept of finance works from a high level. We looked at it from a Jewish mysticism perspective. And we're going to continue a little bit with that today. And then we'll get back to a little bit more of the practicality. But I want to start off with how my morning went yesterday. I think there's a lesson in there. You know, it's funny. Sometimes our mornings are fantastic and sometimes they're a little bit slow. Yesterday I had a great morning. I had a spring in my step. And I'm wondering why. I'm getting ready to leave the house. I'm getting ready to jump in the car. I'm getting ready to go to my office. And I can't tell you the lineup of things that were waiting for me when I got to that office. And I knew that they were waiting for me. And so I knew it was going to be a challenging day, but that didn't stop me. For some reason, I had to spring in my step when I was getting ready to leave the house. And I thought to myself, stop, stop for a second. This is a golden moment. This is a great opportunity to do a deep dive and figure out why. What changed over here? If I can figure out what changed right now to give me that spring in my step, then I can change tomorrow or the next day or any other time that I don't have that spring in my step. But when I'm missing that desire to get out and conquer everything this life has to offer, how do I get there? Because I was there yesterday. How do I repeat? Learn from the opportunity. And so what I did was a quick introspection. I stopped, literally putting on my shoes and said, wait a second, whoa, what's different? And here's what it is. I learned a long time ago. Somebody said there is a profound difference with changing one word. It changes your entire outlook. And the context they use it in was somebody said, Look at what God is doing to me. As if there were suffering in this world. And God was the reason for that very suffering. And what they did was they changed one word. They took the word two and they changed it to four. And it became, look at what God is doing for me. And he changed everything. Just that one word changed your entire perspective. Suddenly, I went from being miserable and upset and on the defense to suddenly becoming in love with my creator because he's doing something for me that other people wouldn't or don't have to. Changes everything. So yesterday, I was doing the same thing. I may not have realized it until I stopped and actually asked the question, what's different? And what I was thinking to myself yesterday morning was not look at what I have to do. Look at where I need to go. Look at all the challenges, look at all the things I need to deal with. What I said to myself was, look at what I get to do. Look at how lucky I am, at how fortunate I am. Not just that I get to go and fix all the world's problems, but just the fact that I woke up in the morning, just the fact that I have a spring in my step, just the fact that I could put my shoes on and tie my own shoelaces. And on and on and on. I was counting my blessings. I stopped and I acknowledged all the amazing things that I have going for me. And it doesn't need to be that I'm a trillionaire, because that in fact could have the opposite effect. That could sink you and it sunk many. Instead, I said, look at how wonderful my lot in life is. And it made me fall in love with my life. And it gave me a spring in my step and it changed everything. Did that make my day easier when I got to the office? No, I still had to put out all these fires. I still had to deal with people making all kinds of mistakes and costing me my time and my energy and my money. But oh well, such is life. Thank God I get to do that because you know what the opposite is? I could be, God forbid, held up in a hospital somewhere, in a bed, tied to some system that I can't break away from. God forbid. Could you imagine? Instead, I stop and I recognize that I can, I have the ability to be able to go out and do these things and make the world a better place. That was yesterday morning. Today, my friends, hopefully is a repeat of that. Hopefully, every day is a repeat of that. So if you find yourself in that situation where you don't have that spring in your step, where you're feeling down and out and you're feeling like you got the raw end of the deal, stomp and figure out which word you need to change. Because oftentimes that's all it takes. I went from look at what I have to do to look at what I get to do. And it changed everything, made me happy in an instant. Let's get back into it.

When A Sale Is Meant To Happen

We're going to talk a little bit about that Kabbalistic idea, and then we're going to get into something that'll sound familiar to absolutely everybody, especially if you're an entrepreneur, and especially if you're in sales. It says, and I mentioned this yesterday, we finished with it, that a purchaser and an object that don't share a spiritual common denominator. In other words, there is no reason for you from the spiritual realm. In other words, your previous existences and this existence and the things that you need to do to achieve your soul's correction, if that item, be it a 20-room mansion or be it a tube of toothpaste, if it doesn't connect back to you and assist you, then there is no need for it to be in your life. You will not come together with it. It just won't happen under any price or any circumstance. It says that's why it's ridiculous for a pushy salesman or an overpowering merchant to try and force somebody to buy something that he or she doesn't want. You'll remember a long time ago, we were doing the interview series, and I had on here a good friend of mine, Mark Halpern, who's been in sales as long as I've known him, certainly way before that. And that's exactly what he pointed out. That if you're an individual who knows that there's a God that runs the world, who walks around with that knowledge and conducts himself in that way, not that it's a nice idea that maybe you can check into it once in a while, but that's the way you live. That's your mantra. There is a God in this world, He loves me, everything is perfect, and I know that everything that's coming to me is coming to me. Nobody is going to stop that from happening, especially not the person sitting in front of me. If that's your approach to life, then you know what happens in your sales meeting? Your customer or your prospect on the other side of the table is at ease. They're relaxed. They're not worried that they're being sold by some pushy snake oil salesman. And that's what the book is talking about. Don't be an overpowering, pushy salesman. There's no reason. The only thing it demonstrates is that you don't have a relationship with your creator, that you lack the knowledge that your money is coming to you no matter what you do. As long as you get up and have that meeting, as long as you make the phone call, as long as you make the effort, everything else will follow. That's it. Because he has an obligation to give it to you, because that is going to help you to fulfill your soul's correction. Let's get says, many business people have related stories. This is going to sound familiar, about seemingly useless merchandise that they sold at a tremendous profit. How many times has that happened? I had this thing on my shelf. I never thought there would be a human being on planet Earth that would pay anything for it. Never mind the premium. And I sold it at record profits. Blew my mind. And at the same time, I've got the most valuable prized possession in the world. Who wouldn't want it? Who would not want this thing? It's in huge demand. And I happen to have it. I'm going to sell it and I'm going to make a sweet profit on it. This is going to be my retirement fund. And you know what happens? It doesn't move. Nobody wants it. You scratch your head and say, How's that possible? And the answer is, you're not supposed to have that transaction. It's not supposed to occur for you. At least not at that time. And you'll notice, and he says over here, Realtors have experienced prospective buyers who turn their noses up on a certain house or a property only to find that three months later, they end up purchasing the very same piece of real estate. Why? Wait a second. I showed it to you months and months ago. And you scoffed at me, you laughed, you no interest. You didn't even want to see it. And now you're ending up buying it. And now not only are they buying it, but they're doing everything that they can to close that deal. What gives? It's the same realtor, it's the same buyer, it's the same market, and suddenly they can't wait to buy that very same property. Why? Because three months ago, you weren't supposed to have the sale. That money wasn't supposed to hit your account. And maybe that buyer wasn't supposed to have that property in their possession at that time. Three months later, situations change. Suddenly HM says, okay, you're ready. Here comes the sale. Now is when you need it. If you're in business, you know exactly what I'm talking about. And it's not just in business, it's in life. But definitely in business, you see it almost every single day. If you're managing cash flow, if you're managing profitability, if you're managing customers and orders and what goes in and what comes out, you know that if just managing your cash flow, you see God's hands every single day. Tell me I'm wrong. Let's move on, my friends. Every field has its own examples of divine providence. Everything has its hour. Divine providence determines when merchandise or a certain commodity will change hands. We don't decide. We just make our effort. End result is up to him.

Negotiating In Good Faith

Negotiating in good faith. What's the premise? The premise is God created a world that is just. God created a world that needs to be fair and good and true. All of the opposite are things that he doesn't want. He doesn't want lies. He doesn't want corruption. He doesn't want phoniness. He wants people to be faithful and true. Not just to him, but to everybody else that we interact with. Once upon a time, people used to conduct business person to person. We used to have door-to-door traveling salespeople. In fact, I used to do it back in my university days. I used to go door-to-door selling to be able to pay for my education. But we used to have people who conducted business one-on-one. Handshakes meant everything. People had a word that they could stand behind. It was tougher than nails. That when they gave you their commitment, you went with it to the bank. You didn't need to have written agreements. The bank even operated with you on that level because there was a human connection. Today we're living in a society that is so far removed from human connection that all of those ideas I just told you about, it's fantasy. People don't have interpersonal skills anymore. And the devices are a very big factor in that. It also doesn't help that we just finished going through a global pandemic that locked away people in their homes for months on end. Point is, we're living in a

Why Trust Feels Rare Now

generation where we are so far removed from social interactions that we think we have 3,000 friends on Facebook and we don't know barely any of them. I was just at a wedding the other day for my cousin's son, Brothershem, was a beautiful wedding. And I see people at the wedding that look familiar to me, but I'm not sure where I know them from. And then when I get home and I start to look at the pictures that people are posting, what do I see? These are friends of mine on Facebook. In reality, I have no idea who they are. I haven't said one word to them my entire life, but we're friends on Facebook. So that must mean we have an amazing relationship because we're friends. That just goes to show you that the term friends no longer means what it used to mean. And that's what Hashem wants us to get back to: to be able to have those interpersonal skills so that when we can speak to somebody face to face, eye to eye, we can connect, our souls can connect, and we can trust what the other person is telling us. Trust has gone out the window, my friends. When we look at leaders of countries in public not ashamed to be corrupt for the camera, they're not ashamed. Our prime minister has no sense of accountability. World leaders today do not have a sense of responsibility or accountability. So when the general population sees that, it trickles downhill. Everybody falls in line. Why do I need to be above board when even the leaders of nations don't need to be? Why does a CEO or CFO of a company need to be held financially accountable when the prime minister of a country doesn't hold himself accountable? Right? It doesn't make sense. But that's how we learn from. We learn from the people who lead the way. And so we're being led by people who have an evil inclination, who are put in a position where they have an opportunity to gain for themselves, to benefit for themselves at the expense of other people. We watch and we hear, we have eyes to see and ears to hear. And we say, hey, wait a second. If that's going to get me to the top position in the world, if that's what the leaders who are making policy for everybody are doing and it's acceptable by them, then why wouldn't it benefit me? And so I mimic the way that they behave. Do you understand? And now we're into a vicious cycle. God wants people to be fair and honest in business. Amuna in business means that a person is fair, honest, and sticks to their word. You give your word and you stand behind it. With the Amuna, that your livelihood comes from your creator. A person doesn't resort to criminal activity. What do I need to do that for? What do I need to stoop to that level? Better than that, even though I see the prime minister behaving in a way that clearly demonstrates he's not cut out to run this country, it doesn't mean that I have to resort to that level. Instead, I stop and I recognize that God runs the world and that God has given him an evil inclination. And that if I thought my evil inclination was bad, just look at his. Just by virtue of the fact that he's in that position, God gave him a much greater evil inclination than he gave me, because he has many more opportunities to do the wrong thing than I do. And so I have to be grateful and say, wait a second, let me learn the right example. And the right example is that I'm not going to do what they do because I know better. He may not know better, but I do. And I can do that introspection like I did yesterday morning. And I can put life in perspective and then make better decisions. Why? Because I have a Muna, because I have a relationship with my creator, and because I know that he runs the world.

Calm Sales Through Real Faith

He also doesn't try to pressure people to complete a business deal. Pressure in business is liable to lead to undesirable things, such as customer resentment and ill feelings that invoke anything but blessing. If it's not meant to be, it will come back. There's no reason to be pushy. You just need to be a caring individual. Show up and show somebody the value of what you have. If it's meant to be, they will buy it. It's got nothing to do with your presentation. It's got nothing to do with your sales skill. Obviously, you need to have people skills. Obviously, you need to have tact and diplomacy to a certain degree. But you don't have to be the best salesman in the world. You just have to have a desire and you have to have the understanding that God runs the world. After that, things will flow. Let's leave it with this point right here, because this one wraps it up beautifully. Nothing frightens a business person with a MUNA. If you're a business person who has a MUNA, you don't get scared by anything. He or she isn't disappointed when a prospective customer walks away. Because he knows that if profit doesn't materialize from transaction A, then it will come from transaction B. Why? Because he brought me into this world and he needs to make sure that it comes with a livelihood.
